ESRI Support Services ::: City Utilities
Springfield, Missouri
Swova, selected by City Utilities, is providing ESRI support services for the current GIS project that encompasses electric, gas and water utilities. Services provided by Swova primarily include assistance and support for developing procedures, and assistance with administering and maintaining an enterprise Oracle / ArcSDE geodatabase. With City Utilities' multi-user, multi-versioned enterprise geodatabase, the procedures and routines Swova is developing will ensure that the Utilities' numerous editors and applications (ArcGIS & ArcFM) will interact with the versioned ArcSDE environment properly and improve performance.
Custom ArcGIS System Training ::: Hannibal
Board of Public Works, MO
Swova has been selected by Hannibal Board of Public Works to provide custom ArcGIS system training to GIS Editors & GIS Administrators. The custom training consists of three areas: (1) Basic ArcGIS Desktop, (2) ArcGIS Desktop Specific to Hannibal's editing needs and (3) ArcGIS Administrator Training. The training topics will span from how to edit features in a geometric network, to administering a versioned ArcSDE geodatabase housed in SQL Server. Swova has partnered with Wind Environmental, an Authorized ESRI Instructor, to perform the Basic ArcGIS Desktop training.
Geodatabase Design/Conversion::: City of
Ottawa Public Works, KS
The Public Works Department at the City of Ottawa, Kansas, has selected Swova to develop a geodatabase design for both their water and electric systems. For both systems, Swova will utilize ESRI's geodatabase technology and develop models that not only take advantage of key geodatabase components like domains and subtypes, but also model the data so that a Geometric Network can be built on this data in the future. After finalizing the new geodatabase design, Swova will migrate existing data from shapefiles, AutoCAD, and MS Access, into the new geodatabase data model.
Custom ArcGIS Desktop Training ::: Ozarks
Electric Cooperative, AR
Swova has been selected by Ozarks Electric Cooperative to provide on-site ArcGIS Desktop training to those that administer and maintain the GIS at Ozarks Electric. Ozarks Electric is in the process of migrating from a CAD based system to ESRI's ArcGIS technology and the geodatabase. They utilize Milsoft's WindMilMap application for maintenance of their electric system. The custom training that Swova will be providing includes all aspects of how to edit, maintain, and utilize their data in the ArcGIS environment.
GIS and HTE Integration Specification :::
City of Kirkwood Electric, MO
The City of Kirkwood has selected Swova to review their current GIS & HTE systems and data and develop a technical specification for integrating the HTE customer information with the GIS data. Kirkwood's GIS data is stored in an enterprise ArcSDE geodatabase house in Oracle. The integration of the HTE & GIS data will allow not only the Electric department, but also all other City departments to utilize HTE data in a geographic (mapping) environment for better decision making and support.
ArcGIS Server / Oracle 10gR2 ::: Clark
County, OH
Swova upgraded and migrated Clark County's enterprise
GIS environment to ArcGIS Server 9.2 with Oracle
10gR2 for the geodatabase. Swova also is providing
geodatabase support assistance as well as geoprocessing
modeling migration assistance.
ArcGIS Server / SQL Server 2005 ::: Isle
of Wight County, VA
Swova implemented an enterprise geodatabase for
Isle of Wight County, Virginia. The implemented
environment is ArcGIS Server 9.2 with SQL Server
2005. Swova developed and provided Geodatabase maintenance
and support documentation along with custom maintenance
scripts and automated routines for the SQL Server
geodatabase.
ArcGIS Server / SQL Server 2005 ::: Shawano,
WI
Swova implemented an enterprise geodatabase for
Shawano County, Wisconsin. The implemented environment
is ArcGIS Server 9.2 with SQL Server 2005 which
supports parcel data maintenance with Sidwell's
Parcel Builder. Swova supported the client / server
installation in support of the Parcel Builder environment.
ArcIMS to ArcGIS Server 9.2 ::: Nashville
Electric Service, TN
Nashville Electric Service's current enterprise
environment includes an intranet ArcIMS application
for view and query. Swova installed and configured
ArcGIS Server 9.2 and is implementing an Web ADF
intranet application to replace the current ArcIMS
system.
October 2006 ::: Clark County awarded Best
Practices Award by OGRIP
Swova is pleased to announce that Clark County,
Ohio, our client, was awarded the Ohio Geographically
Referenced Information Program (OGRIP) 2006 Best
Practices Award. Aimee Belanger-Haas, County GIS
Director, was honored by OGRIP and presented the
award at the 2006 Ohio State GIS Conference. The
Clark County GIS Program received this award as
a result of showing progress in expanding the program
into an enterprise-wide system as well as integrating
the GIS into daily operations. OGRIP commended Ms.
Belanger-Haas and George Sodders, the County Auditor,
for developing a system that is an exemplary example
of meeting OGRIP's goals of collaboration and cooperation.
October 2006 ::: Application Development
Services, Warren County, Ohio
Warren County, Ohio extends the application development
services contract with Swova. Swova is pleased to
be continuing our professional relationship with
the County. Swova is providing the County with ArcIMS
and ASP programming and technical support services
to meet their update and change requirements. In
addition, Swova will support Warren County with
application development services for both web-based
applications, as above, and ArcGIS desktop applications
as required.
September - November 2006 ::: ESRI ArcGIS
9.2 Seminar Series
Swova, as an invited ESRI Business Partner, exhibits
at the "Introducing ArcGIS 9.2 Seminar" series in
the St. Louis, Missouri region. ArcGIS 9.2, ESRI's
next major software release, provides quality, usability,
and performance enhancements for ArcGIS Desktop,
ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Engine. Swova provides
superior development and implementation professional
services for the ArcGIS 9.2 release specializing
in the data management and web-based application
deployment capabilities of ArcGIS 9.2 Server.
July 2006 ::: Onsite ArcSDE / Oracle Support,
Laclede Gas, St. Louis, MO
Laclede Gas, a retail gas distribution company servicing
the City of St. Louis and eight surrounding counties,
has selected Swova to assist them in providing ArcSDE
and Oracle onsite support services. Swova is excited
to be assisting Laclede Gas with our ArcSDE expertise
for onsite support.
July 2006 ::: Swova presents on ArcWeb Explorer
at KY GIS Conference
Angie Jennings and Emily Nordloh presented “ArcWeb
Explorer: An Overview” at the KY GIS Conference
in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. The presentation highlighted
the differences between ArcGIS Explorer and ArcWeb
Explorer, the ArcWeb interface, data accessibility,
customization of ArcWeb explorer, and application
examples.
July 2006 ::: ArcSDE / Oracle Support Services,
Clark County, Ohio
Clark County, Ohio selects Swova to provide them
with onsite and remote ArcSDE and Oracle support
services. Swova is pleased to be continuing our
professional relationship with Clark County. We
will provide troubleshooting, upgrade and patch
advice, data model change support, and error analysis.
June 2006 ::: GIS and CAMA Integration,
Clark County, Ohio
Swova is providing to Clark County, Ohio custom
code and modeling for integration between the GIS
ArcSDE database and the CLT CAMA Oracle database.
Kari Burge, with her CAMA integration expertise
with St. Louis County, MO, is providing these services
to the County. This integration customization includes
python scripting and geoprocessing models to provide
Clark County tight integration between the two systems.
June 2006 ::: Annotation Conversion Geoprocessing
Model
Clark County requires the export of data from the
ArcSDE geodatabase to shapefile on a weekly basis
to support GIS users within the County. To do so,
the County looked to Swova to provide the custom
annotation export capability to support the geodatabase
to shapefile annotation export. Swova built an annotation
export geoprocessing model for Clark County that
exports all of the geodatabase annotation and their
subtypes.
March 2006 ::: ESRI selects Swova LLC as
Partner of the Year
Swova is very proud to announce that we were awarded
ESRI
Business Partner of the Year for the St. Louis
Region! Swova received the award in March at the
ESRI Worldwide Business Partner Conference in Palm
Springs, California. This award is given to business
partners for recognition of outstanding achievements
in marketing and sales, innovation in technology
development, and continued support of ESRI. Swova

in geodatabase design and implementation, successfully

February 2006 ::: Utility Billing System
and Enterprise GIS Integration
Hannibal Board of Public Works (HBPW) has selected
Swova to integrate their existing utility billing
system (an Incode product) with their enterprise
GIS housed in ArcSDE and Microsoft SQL Server. Swova
is pleased to be continuing to assist HBPW with
the development of their Enterprise Utility GIS.
The Billing System and GIS Integration will involve
Swova developing methodology and custom routines
to access the Billing System (a file based system)
in ArcSDE and SQL Server. This integration will
provide HBPW the ability to access live data in
the billing system and search by phone number, address,
account number, and then display the related GIS
data on the map.
February 2006 ::: Automatic Update Toolset
for ArcSDE Geodatabase
Swova is continuing to support the NKAPC and Link
GIS by developing a custom toolset for the routine
import of source datasets into the ArcSDE enterprise
geodatabase. This toolset is being developed using
Python and ArcObjects and will facilitate weekly
automatic updating of the geodatabase from several
different source datasets. Plans also include the
creation of an export toolset, facilitating the
export of datasets from the geodatabase to a variety
of formats for access by subscribing users and various
standalone applications.
January 2006 ::: NISC Selects Swova to Provide
ArcSDE Support Services
National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC)
has selected Swova to assist them in providing ArcSDE
Support Services to their existing clients/members.
In addition to offering integrated IT solutions
for accounting, engineering, billing, operations,
and GIS; NISC provides technical support for utility
and telecommunication cooperatives and companies
in 47 states. Swova is excited to be assisting NISC
by providing the following ArcSDE Support Services:
ArcSDE/Oracle installation, configuration and data
loading; ArcSDE/Oracle upgrading; and ArcSDE/Oracle
technical support.
January 2006 ::: ArcSDE/Oracle Database
Design, and Development
Clark County, Ohio selects Swova to design, develop,
and install their new enterprise geodatabase based
on ArcSDE 9.1 and Oracle 10g. Swova is assisting
Clark County with the following services: database
server specification review; ArcSDE and Oracle 10g
software setup; enterprise database design and data
model; setup of geodatabase, data migration, and
data loading; development of ArcSDE maintenance
and administration procedures; database setup, design,
and migration documentation; and CAMA/CLT and GIS
data integration planning.
December 2005 ::: Florence County, South
Carolina
Swova has been selected by Florence County, South
Carolina to provide ArcSDE implementation support
services. Cadastra, based in Virginia and specializing
in quality parcel data conversion services, is finalizing
the property data conversion for Florence County.
Upon final deliver, Swova will work directly with
key County staff members to migrate the new property
data into ArcSDE and provide all the required administration,
tuning and maintenance functions. Because of Florence
County's desire to be very hands on in the ArcSDE
and SQL Server implementation, Swova will develop
a detailed ArcSDE Implementation Guide. The Guide
will detail information, instructions, responsibility,
and schedule for each identified implementation
task. Once the ArcSDE Implementation Guide is complete
and Florence County begins the actual ArcSDE Implementation,
Swova will be on-call to provide consulting services
to support the County in the implementation.
November 2005 ::: Warren County, Ohio
Warren County, Ohio contracts with Swova for ArcIMS
application enhancements. The County currently has
an Online Mapping Application (OMA) for public access
to their GIS data. The County has needs and requirements
to enhance this ArcIMS based web application to
support real-time data access, provide enhanced
print functionality, and link to CAMA data. Swova
is pleased to be providing the County with ArcIMS
and ASP programming and technical support services
to meet these needs and requirements. In addition,
Swova will support Warren County with application
development services for both web-based applications,
as above, and ArcGIS desktop applications as required.
October 2005 ::: Swova Presents on ArcSDE
Swova presented “Simplifying Enterprise ArcSDE Geodatabase
Implementation” at the Midwest Arc User Group Conference
in Bloomington, Indiana. The presentation highlighted
proven, streamlined methodologies for evaluating
data storage requirements, applying RDBMS and ESRI
recommendations, migrating data, developing versioning
structures and procedures, and performing on-going
ArcSDE/RDBMS administration and maintenance.
September 2005 ::: Lexington-Fayette Urban
County Government
Swova is pleased to be assisting Lexington-Fayette
Urban County Government (LFUCG) with their upgrade
to version 9.1 for both their ArcSDE 8.3/SQL Server
enterprise geodatabase and their ArcIMS 9.0 web
server. LFUCG has three geodatabases (one that houses
vector data and two that house raster data) that
need to be upgraded and migrated to the stand-alone
database format. Along with the upgrade, Swova will
assist LFUCG with the necessary modifications to
their ArcSDE maintenance and administration routines.
August 2005 ::: JOB Trailer Storage – Cincinnati,
OH
JOB Trailer Storage, a semi-trailer rental and leasing
company, has requirements for tracking the status
of their storage trailers, whether leased or not.
JOB has hired Swova to develop a Microsoft Access
Database with input, query, and reporting functionality
to help them do business better and meet their customers
needs more efficiently. JOB Trailer Storage does
business with clients such as UPS Supply Chain Solutions,
Goodwill Industries, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, and
Cincinnati Milacron.

Swova Selected to Implement ESRI’s ArcIMS/CAMA Integration
Application
Swova, an ESRI Business Partner, has been selected
and trained by ESRI to implement an application
that integrations GIS and CAMA data and is served
to the public via ArcIMS. The ArcIMS application,
along with some custom integration tools, seamlessly
integrates CAMA data from almost any CAMA application
with GIS data. Because of our background and expertise,
Swova is in a unique position to not only build
the integration between CAMA and GIS, but also to
develop the custom ArcIMS application that will
serve this data to the public. In addition, Swova
can offer web hosting services for organizations
that choose not to host their own ArcIMS server
and applications.
July 2005 ::: L&N Federal Credit Union – Louisville,
KY
L & N Federal Credit Union has a requirement
to determine membership eligibility of prospective
new customers with the credit union by evaluating
their home or business input address to physical
site address locations within given census tracts.
Swova developed an application to access on-demand
GIS data and processing capabilities, ArcWeb Services,
giving L & N access to up-to-date content and
capabilities without the overhead of purchasing
and maintaining a large address dataset. Swova designed
and developed an ASP .NET web application that interacts
with the ArcWeb Services to geolocate the address
from the user input and verify its physical location
as well as what census tract it is located in. The
ASP .NET ArcWeb Services application verifies whether
the address falls within the census tracts that
are eligible for participation in the credit union
and returns the appropriate response to the user
via the L & N Federal Credit Union website.
July 2005 ::: Delaware County, Indiana
Swova is providing ArcSDE support services to Delaware
County, Indiana for their newly configured ArcSDE
database in SQL Server. Swova is assisting the County
with troubleshooting the ArcSDE/SQL Server configuration
on their Dell SANs server. Additionally, Swova will
be developing a versioning structure and workflow;
providing on-site versioning and editing training;
and creating custom ArcSDE/SQL Server database maintenance
and administration routines.
June 2005 ::: Hannibal Board of Public Works,
Hannibal, Missouri
Swova is beginning Phase II of the Hannibal Board
of Public Works (HBPW) enterprise implementation
services after completing the setup of the ArcSDE/Microsoft
SQL Server enterprise geodatabase. As part of the
Phase II implementation, Swova is designing an electric
geometric network that implements connectivity rules
for HBPW’s real world electric features. This network
design feature available in ESRI’s geodatabase builds
intelligence into the database that allows the user
of ArcGIS Desktop to validate features in the GIS
editing environment. Swova is also developing a
curb line feature class from the centerlines delivered
from the Osmose data collection project.
May 2005 ::: McHenry County, Illinois
Swova recently began a project with McHenry County,
IL to assist the County with GIS implementation
across the enterprise. McHenry County is contracting
with Swova on an annual basis to provide these GIS
implementation and support services. Swova’s consulting
services will include ArcSDE database tuning recommendations,
evaluation of ArcIMS functional needs across County
departments, ArcIMS server setup recommendations,
ArcIMS customized interfaces and query functionality,
and GIS support services.
April 2005 ::: Sidwell Business Partnership
Swova joins The Sidwell Company’s Business Partner
Program in order to offer clients a complete solution
for enterprise parcel management. Along with our
ArcSDE geodatabase design and implementation expertise
for parcel data storage and maintenance, Swova now
can offer Sidwell’s Parcel Builder parcel management
productivity solution. Parcel Builder is an ArcGIS
9 extension that provides essential tools to streamline
your parcel maintenance process including parcel
map maintenance, PIN management, data integration,
and sophisticated plotting tools.
March 2005 ::: Northern Kentucky Area Planning
Commission
Swova is pleased to support
the NKAPC and Link GIS with ArcSDE 9.0 and Microsoft
SQL Server 2000 implementation services. Swova will
assist with server configuration and setup requirements
to support incorporating data for a three county
area. Swova, along with the ArcSDE geodatabase setup
and configuration services, will develop custom
toolsets to streamline the import and export of
datasets into and out of the ArcSDE enterprise geodatabase.
March 2005 ::: City of Bowling Green, Kentucky
Swova is assisting the City
of Bowling Green, Kentucky in implementing ESRI's
ArcSDE and ArcIMS server technologies. Swova's ArcSDE
services include ArcSDE 9.0 and Microsoft SQL Server
setup and configuration. Swova is providing ArcIMS
web server implementation services to support the
City's Clicks! intranet environment. Swova will
assist the City with setup, configuration, and customization
of the ArcIMS server and interface to function with
Apache web server software and the Tomcat servlet
engine.
February 2005 ::: Hannibal Board of Public
Works, Hannibal, Missouri
Swova is providing ArcSDE and
Microsoft SQL Server implementation services to
Hannibal Board of Public Works, the municipal utility
for the City of Hannibal, Missouri. Swova is assisting
HBPW with installation and configuration of Microsoft
SQL Server and ArcSDE 9.0 and the migration of the
GIS data, satellite imagery, and field collection
data into the new geodatabase. Swova assisted with
incorporating Osmose field inventory data.
December 2004 ::: Swova is an authorized
ESRI Business Partner
ESRI, Inc. welcomes Swova, LLC into the ESRI Business
Partner Program. As an authorized Consultant in
the Business Partner Program, Swova provides GIS
professional services and development services for
ArcIMS, ArcGIS, and ArcSDE for the utilities, federal
government, and local government markets. Our ESRI
Business Partnership allows us to not only keep
up to date on the latest ESRI technologies and their
implementation, but to also continue a strong working
relationship with our ESRI Regional Office in St.
Louis. We are ESRI trained and experienced in implementing
the following technologies: ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcGIS,
and ArcObjects Development.
October 2004 ::: Nashville Electric Service
Awards Contract
Swova is pleased to announce that we have been selected
by Nashville Electric Service (NES), Nashville,
Tennessee, as part of the project team of Ferguson-Jenkins
and Associates, Inc. and Grand
Terre GIS, Inc. to provide GIS development and
technical support services. As part of the project
team, Swova will develop a Street Light Maintenance
application based on ESRI’s ArcGIS Desktop platform
while providing enhancements of the internal ArcIMS
capabilities to include the ability for GIS end-users
to electronically communicate with GIS staff on
database issues, field verifications, staff project
collaboration, and planning projects. Throughout
the course of the project, Swova will continue to
provide on-going ArcIMS/web-based application development,
ArcIMS administration/technical support, ArcGIS
application development, and ArcSDE geodatabase
technical support for the NES enterprise.

Jennings, Emily Nordloh, and Kari Burge team to
form Swova LLC, a 100% women-owned information technology
company, specializing in the implementation of ESRI's
® Suite of ArcGIS products. In particular, Swova
provides information delivery solutions using server
based technologies including ESRI's ® ArcIMS,
ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Server as well as SQL Server,
Oracle RDBMS, Coldfusion MX, and ASP .NET. Our design,
development, and implementation of these technologies
allow the customer to take advantage of central
data/GIS deployment with web-enabled access for
their users.
