Engineer Position
The GIS Software
Engineer leads the specification, development, and maintenance of desktop,
server-based and web-based applications. These applications often have
a mapping or spatial analysis component. The GIS Software Engineer should
be able to communicate and work well with IT systems support staff,
as well as non-IT staff.
Responsibilities:
Successful
candidates are expected to work independently and as part of a team,
demonstrate initiative, adapt to changing client priorities, and have
good communication skills. The successful candidate should be a good
trouble shooter and have a demonstrated ability to successfully manage
multiple tasks in addition to the ability to work independently to accomplish
assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
in computer science or related field from a recognized educational institution
or a combination of training and directly related experience.

or more years of programming experience with demonstrated work examples

Demonstrated
ability to develop .NET and C# GIS applications

ESRI,
Inc. ArcObjects knowledge and programming experience, a plus

Experience
with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, and ArcGIS Engine

Strong
server-side skills also preferred with knowledge of web servers, web
services, etc.

Familiarity
with SQL programming with Oracle and SQL Server, a plus

Ability
to develop effective working relationships in a team environment

Effective
organizational and planning skills to prioritize and implement assigned
tasks

Ability
to analyze problems and develop creative solutions with minimal guidance
